My most valuable tools for understanding player value are my dashboards that allow me to breakdown performance however I need to, quickly and intuitively. This post exists to share a version of those tools, covering a small selection of players

These are both hosted publicly by Tableau and include data for AB De Villiers, Andre Russell, Babar Azam, Chris Lynn, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Glenn Maxwell, Jos Buttler, Krunal Pandya, MS Dhoni, Quinton De Kock, Rishabh Pant, Sunil Narine, Virat Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada, Mustafizur Rahman, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Lamichhane, Shadab Khan, and Tom Curran

I’m not going to spend effort explaining how they work… hopefully they are intuitive enough. The chosen players were selected in a completely arbitrary fashion. I wanted a mix of nationalities and ages, although most have a wealth of T20 experience. Most have played in multiple competitions and it can be interesting to see how performance differs for each player. Even the top stars can perform poorly with the conditions don’t suit
